Harvest Festival preparations underway
We are thrilled to announce that the festival banners appeared along Main Street this week as Flatfield begins preparing for the annual Harvest Festival.
Public Works crews have started installing signs, temporary fencing, and lighting around the town square. This year's festival will again feature food vendors, games, live music, student artwork from Washington Elementary, and the annual Harvest Parade.
Residents should expect occasional road closures downtown as preparations continue.
Organizers are also looking for volunteers to assist with setup, cleanup, and the ever-popular elephant ear tent. Those interested should contact Town Hall.
Parking behind the Flatfield Historical Society will be reserved for staff and emergency vehicles during festival weekend.
Ohnay Watchers Overwhelm Marginals
Flatfield’s finest warn that parking on the marginal roads in Northern Flatfield is illegal during business hours.
Our finest finned friends attract thousands to our shores every year. To keep Flatfield friendly and orderly, Chief Neesman asked us to remind everyone that any vehicles will be ticketed and towed.
“The Ohnay are active this time of year,” Chief Neesman said. “Whether you’re from Flatfield or just passing through, there are a few things you need to remember.”
By a few things, we suggest everyone help keep Flatfield friendly and park in the appropriate lots or side streets.
Washington Elementary reminds parents about morning drop-off
Washington Elementary is asking parents to use the designated drop-off lane when bringing students to school. Please drive through the back lot to allow your young scholar a safe exit.
Vehicles should not stop directly in front of the building during morning arrival.
